My Magazine Cover

For my magazine cover I going to chose to use and manipulate one of the following images:
The reason for, may-be, using this image is that his entire body is shown and portrays him as quite a laid back and relaxed musician which could be an attractive trait to the audience. There is a lot of background space that can be taken out, and it will allow me to fill the open area with text and other images. Tom is a young attractive, male which is always key when you want to attract people to your magazine.
I may potentially choose this image to be my magazine cover; I have chosen this because I think that Tom stands out extremely well to the bright/light brick wall background, and I think that this will grab the audiences' attention. Tom is also giving direct mode of address, the use of it makes the overall aesthetics of the magazine more attractive and make it more eye catching and personal towards the audience. Not only this but Tom's dark colours in his clothing and hair portrays the genre extremely well. For example: if he were to be wearing bright neon colours he would be easily associated with house music or pop music. His dark clothing is, of course, setting a rock look as the black sets a gothic personality for Tom.
The reason for using this image is that I don't need to do a-lot of editing, the character in shot has full focus. The background of the image is, in somewhat, blurred out. The character is shown with dark purple hair, which of course is dyed and not a natural colour - this, in my opinion, sets quite a rebellious personality towards the target audience. Tom, (the actor), is shown wearing eye-liner. Typically black eye-liner sets a quite punk rock/Gothic vibe and straight away allows the audience to understand what genre the magazine is. The fact Tom is visibly such a young person works well for the young audience.
