The target audience for my magazine is both female and male, aged between 14 – 19. This is portrayed throughout my cover, contents and my double page spread. This is shown because the model is 17 years of age and male, who can attract to both males and female, and the young model will certainly attract a much more immature audience.
On my front cover, Tom (the model) is giving off a very laid back,
yet fierce attitude. His lack of formality suggests that he’ll still quite
young and rebellious, and not yet an adult. His emotionless expression, allows
the audience to want to find out what kind of personality the model has as he
doesn’t express much emotion. This attitude represents a particular social group, I believe that it represents young people as independent. It helps bring in the correct audience that I’d like to appeal to – those who
love rock music, and those who portray themselves as unique (and perhaps an outcast).
My price of my magazine is rather key, also – it is priced at a low
£2.50, which of course is very cheap for the average magazine. This is definitely an affordable priced magazine, especially suited for such a young audience. A magazine like “Kerrang!” is priced at a low £2.20,
“Kerrang!” too share the same target audience as myself. The low price also
allows it to sell a lot easier as it will not sell at an expensive price of £5 or so.
